My dad and I went into London to see a play that my Grandad originally got tickets for himself and my Grandma to see. My Grandma is currently going through a lot of radiotherapy and is suffering due to her brain tumour, so Grandad gave us the tickets instead. It was a modern reimagination of The Oresteia which relates to my degree and interests of course which is why he thought I'd enjoy it. It was absolutely crazy - VERY intense and kept me so hooked throughout that it didn't feel like its 3 hour 40 minute runtime at all!! The actors all did an incredible job and the stagecraft was amazing. They had built this house that revolved with the stage to show all the different rooms and the actors performed from inside which helped create a claustrophobic atmosphere. For an adaptation, it was alright. I wasn't as invested in it as a reception of the source material. But I still liked it and my dad did too. Fittingly, we went to a Greek place for lunch lol.
